bibliochat with author Laurie Bowler + giveaway

All fiction is a process of imagining: whatever you write, in whatever genre or medium, your task is to make things up convincingly and interestingly and new. - Neil Gaiman

aobibliophile™: hi Laurie and welcome to aobibliosphere™. we finally got the chance to chat. i'm sure everyone is curious about you so could you please tell us something about yourself?
Laurie's baby parrot Bell
Laurie Bowler: Hi everyone, its lovely to be here. I'm a 28 year old author from the United Kingdom who writes about paranormal romance. I work full time as a teacher to adults, write in my spare time  whenever I am able to. I love to write about vampires, witches and anything that is remotely unusual and generally aspects of paranormalcy that can't ever be real, its purely imaginative work, adding romance into the mix is something I like to do to add to the characters and the story line.

aob™: when did you begin writing?

LB: I started writing in November 2009, it has been a very interesting journey so far and I cannot wait to produce more books for the enjoyment of others.

aob™: what made you want to write?

LB:I don't really, I have been asked this same question by all my friends and family. I literally sat down and thought, you know I'm going to write a book and since that night I haven't been able to stop. I have so many ideas bursting to be let out, I can barely keep up with  my own imagination and find myself jotting notes of new ideas and stories all the time.

aob™: how did you come up with the titles to your books?

LB: Honestly, they just sprang into my head and I knew I had to use the first title that came into my mind. While I'm writing the story, the titles just spring into my imagination!

aob™: between Moon Rising and Sunrise To Sunset, which is your favorite?

LB: Sunrise to Sunset for sure. I developed the
characters and the storyline so much when I wrote this one and paid particular attention to the development of the Gulons and their heritage and the heritage of Nessy the main character.

aob™: who or what inspired you to write these paranormal stories?

LB: I used to read all the time, mainly romance novels and then I read one that included both romance and paranormal so I knew I wanted to write anything and everything paranormal.

aob™: when i visited your website, i noticed that you have written other books. could you tell us about them?

LB: Serena Embracing Darkness is my latest novel, and is a vampire but an adventure thriller rather than romance. I have developed it in a way I couldn't imagine. I have written other titles that are currently out, they are romance only without paranormal characters or activity. I like to try so many different titles and stories entering into different genres of writing all the time.

aob™: is there anything you are working on right now that you would like to share with us?

LB: I would like to share a few things: I have a short story coming out in the next few weeks called Across the City, and Golden Horizons another edition in the Moon Rising series. I also have The Depths of Darkness that is to be released in a few weeks time. Check my website for details of the release dates www.laurie-bowler.com

aob™: what would you like to tell your readers and critics?

LB: I am happy with my writing and if I please one
person and gain a good review then I know I have made one person's day and have a fan for life. Critical reviews of my work are always a good turn for me to read and for me to be able to develop my skills in writing. No matter the review I always consider with great enthusiasm the thoughts of everyone.

aob™: any last thoughts before we conclude?

LB: I am giving away e-book copies of Sunrise to Sunset and Moon Rising. There are 5 of each that I have prepared to send to the lucky winners of this giveaway.

aob™: thank you very much Laurie for your generosity and for stopping by. it was a pleasure having you on aobibliosphere™.

LB: Thank you for having me and I love your blog, and your honest and deep reviews that you leave, they are awesome.* Thank you as well to all those who have taken the opportunity to stop by and read this interview, it's greatly appreciated. Happy reading to you all!
