04 Book Lovin Bitches Ebook Tours review : gabriel's mate by Tina Folsom

Are we not like two volumes of one book? - Marceline Desbordes-Valmore

Gabriel's Mate
Maya Johnson is a surgeon. on her way home from hospital duty, she is turned by a rogue vampire against her will. she is rescued by vampire bodyguards who work for Scanguards -  a security company. they bring her to Gabriel Giles, a vampire and Scanguards' number two man, who runs the operations in New York. he puts Maya under his care and protection. he is attracted to her in more ways than one. Maya too feels the same way but Gabriel hesitates to give his all for fear of the rejection that he receives from every woman he encounters when they learn the truth about him. as he helps Maya recall her memories of that fateful night when she was attacked and find the rogue responsible, he too must find answers to his predicament or suffer it for all eternity.
this is the third novel in the Scanguards Bodyguards series but it can stand alone. the first Samson's Lovely Mortal deals with Scandguards' vampire owner Samson and his mortal auditor Delilah.  the second one Amaury's Hellion is about Amaury's vampiric ability of feeling everyone's emotions and what happens when he meets the mortal Nina. these characters make brief appearances here as the story focuses now on Gabriel and Maya.
those who have read and reviewed this book were all abuzz about Gabriel's "problem" and then some. when i later found out what it was, i could not help but grin and say "clever, Miss Folsom, very clever!" to be in the know, you have to get a copy of this book!
author Tina Folsom has entertained me once more with this fast-paced paranormal thriller laced with erotica and romance. i loved all of the characters and how the author gave each his/her distinctive personality. there is even a gay vampire here and the story's setting brought back lovely memories of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Park.
some readers, though, may be offended by some explicit sexual situations so be forewarned.
Gabriel's Mate is another sure-fire winner on my list and it comes very recommended.

This sounds very tantalizing, to say the least. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the recommendation, AO!
