review: eat your peas, Mom simple truths and happy insights by Cheryl Karpen & illustrated by Susan Fougner

I miss thee, my Mother!  Thy image is still The deepest impressed on my heart.
- Eliza Cook

big things do come in little packages. this delightful book takes only about three minutes to read yet its contents are timeless and can be read over and over again. not only is it a perfect gift for moms on Mother's Day but also for any occasion.
the pages are beautifully illustrated by Sandy Fougner and i love the pastel colors she employed. they are pleasant and refreshing to the eyes and give you a homey feeling.
the brief messages look handwritten and this gives everything a personal touch. the illustrations and missives combined cast me in a sentimental mood and took me on a ride down memory lane.
author Cheryl Karpen has won my heart with her simple yet meaningful words. i actually had a good cry after i read it and how i wish my Mom were still here.
if she were alive, i would have given her this little token to show my love, respect, admiration and gratitude for the mother and woman she was.
Eat Your Peas®  Mom Simple Truths and Happy Insights is definitely a keeper for me!

incidentally, it is your birthday today Mom. you would have been 70. i cannot believe that it has been nearly two years since you passed away.
there are never enough words to say how much i really and deeply love you.
i still miss you...
i always will...
happy birthday Mom!
