41 BLB Book Tours review: imperium by Nicholas Olivo

"Now pardon me for a moment, I have some swooping and saving to do.”
- Nicholas Olivo

Imperium
Vincent Corinthos has three things going for him. he works part-time as a stock clerk for an antique store and deals with paranormal activity as an agent for an organization named Caulborn in the city of Boston. as if these were not enough, he is also a godling to a race of beings called Urisk.
i love this debut novel! i have never read anything like this before. from beginning to end, i was definitely entertained with this engaging and fast-paced dark urban fantasy.
aside from his human heroes and villains, author Nicholas Olivo populates his story with gremlins, zombies, vampires, werewolves and the horsemen of the Apocalypse. he also mixes in some history, magic, science, technology, Arthurian lore and mythology .
there may appear to be a lot of elements here but i never felt overwhelmed nor lost track of who was who and what was happening. everything just fit together seamlessly.
although the last few pages hinted at a possible sequel, this book is complete in itself. should there be a follow up, i would certainly look forward to reading it with gusto.
