05 Organgeberry Book Tours review: past lives #1 - Rachel by Stephanie Abbott

I tend to live in the past because most of my life is there. - Herb Caen

a near-fatal car crash sets the stage for the reunion of five people whose past lives will haunt each one again.
this is the first book of six and author Stephanie Abbott has done a great job of introducing her Past Lives series. filled with intriguing characters and multi-layered secrets, Rachel's story was well-written and a fascinating read.
past and present alternate as Rachel MacCready, her cousin Brannon Murray, Josh Strickland, Zach Miller and Hayden Cross revisit 1870 and relive events that link them together.
i love the descriptions of Victorian London and its technological contrivances which lend an air of steampunk and sci-fi feel to the whole book.
the gathering of telekinetics, pyrokinetics and telepaths during a murder trial and what took place are some of the scenarios which i found interesting.
as expected, the last chapter ends with a cliffhanger. there are still a lot of issues and questions which may or may not be resolved and answered in Past Lives #2 - Brannon.
it looks like readers need to dip into each of the remaining main characters' perspectives first before the mystery of their reincarnation is finally solved.
