    3 A.D.: Mary's Story
"Her deep, purple tunic was made of the finest of linens. She draped it so her pregnancy was barely visible. However, when in her presence for just a little while, one knew that what she carried below her heart was the most important being in her life, after God. She was constantly rubbing her stomach, or patting it or just laying her hand on it, I realized. The touch was so light and tender it brought tears to my eyes." (Mary's visit to her cousin Elizabeth)
