review + give@way: Moon Mail and Star Kisses by Amanda Salisbury

“For you, a comet, under a blue sky, leaves trail of color, For you, a star, dreams of being able to kiss you, dream to hear your voice For you, full moon, keep vigil for you, my girl, keep vigil for you, my love.” -  Tiziano di Carmen, Zori 2ª Parte

Moon Mail & Star Kisses
separation from loved ones, no matter how brief, is a painful experience for an innocent child. a lot of children feel helpless especially at night when the physical longing to have a parent or adult around is most often strongly felt. anyone who has ever looked after small children just before they lay down to sleep knows this.
author Amanda Salisbury provides a tool to help both parties cope with these moments as they arise. the idea she shares is so simple yet feasible and she brings this to life in her book Moon Mail & Star Kisses.
with its vibrant, colorful illustrations and rhymes, the book acts like a temporary security blanket not only for the child or children but for the adult(s) as well. all the child has to do is gaze at the moon or stars and feel assured that these nocturnal lights would send down upon him or her messages of love and kisses from the adult who is away. in turn, the adult would get "mail" from the child via the same.
i love the book. it is short, compact and visually attractive and i would recommend it to everyone to have and keep handy.
