57 The Friday 56: Searching for Grace by Juliann Rich

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda over at Freda's Voice
how to participate:
  • grab a book, any book.
  • turn to page 56 or 56% of your e-reader (it's all right if you have to improvise)
  • find any sentence, (or few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
  • post it.
  • add your (url) post in Linky HERE. add the post url, not your blog url. it's that simple.
last week, i featured a snippet from the first book in the Crossfire Trilogy. this week, i have something from the second book.

"Because those guys? Pete, Brandon, Luke? They aren't your friends. You just think they are." She leaned her head on my shoulder, not for show or for Enid. This time it was real. I rested my head on hers and hoped I was done dripping. Friends deserved better treatment than to have snot land on them. Especially real friends.
