58 The Friday 56: Taking the Stand by Juliann Rich

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda over at Freda's Voice
how to participate:
  • grab a book, any book.
  • turn to page 56 or 56% of your e-reader (it's all right if you have to improvise)
  • find any sentence, (or few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
  • post it.
  • add your (url) post in Linky HERE. add the post url, not your blog url. it's that simple.
this week, i have a snippet from the last book in the Crossfire Trilogy.

Jonathan Cooper must take a stand if he wants to get Ian MacGuire out of jail. with so many things happening around and within him, he needs to set things right. by breaking his silence, would there be salvation for Ian as well as for himself?
He slides the Billie Holiday disc into the CD player and a woman's voice begins to sing "I'm a Fool to Want You."
Mason downshifts his car and slides through the intersection. "You're sure you're ready for this?"
I know what he's talking about. Seeing Simon. It's been weeks since I stormed out of Young Art, and no, I am definitely not ready for this. "Do I have a choice?"
